This indicator shows the annual average jobless rate for the City of Muskegon as reported by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget.

The most recent year experienced a decrease in the jobless rate. For several years unemployment remained stubbornly high as result of the severe economic recession, however, the 2015 annual rate of 9.3% is significantly down from the 18.4% recorded for 2011.
