MINUTES
A meeting of the Election Commission for the City of Muskegon was held at City
Hall, 933 Terrace Street, Muskegon, MI at 5:30 p.m., Monday, April 15, 2019.
Present: Election Commission Members — Betty Ivory, Casey Allard, and Deputy
City Clerk Kimberly Young.
Absent: Election Commission Member — Wanda Matsey
Moved by Allard, second by Ivory-Roberts, to approve the minutes of the
October 15, 2018 meeting — motion passes.
The Election Commission and Clerk staff discussed appoiniment of election
inspectors and the need to balance political parties as well as personalities. Staff
explained that we are also trying to recruit younger inspectors that are
comfortable with computers.
The Election Commission reviewed and approved the appointment of election
insoectors for the May 7, 2019 Election. Moved by lvory-Roberts, second by
Allard, to approve the potential election inspector list for May 7, 2019 as
presented.
Moved by Allard, second by lIvory-Roberts, to approve the resolution to
consolidate precincts 3 & 4 as well as precinct 6 & 7 for the May 7, 201? Election,
as the precincts share a polling place and expected turnout is low enough that
a consolidation is warranted.
Meeting adjourned at 6:15 p.m.

RESOLUTION TO CONSOLIDATE PRECINCTS
WHEREAS; The Polling Location for Precinct 3 in the City of Muskegon is located at 1150
Amity, Muskegon Middle School; and
WHEREAS; The Polling Location for Precinct 4 in the City of Muskegon is located at 1150
Amity, Muskegon Middle School; and
WHEREAS; The total number of voters for both precincts 3 & 4 does not exceed 5,000
voters; and
WHEREAS; The Polling Location for Precinct 6 in the City of Muskegon is located at 933
Terrace Street, Muskegon City Hall; and
WHEREAS; The Polling Location for Precinct 7 in the City of Muskegon is located at 933
Terrace Street, Muskegon City Hall; and
WHEREAS; The total number of voters for both precincts 6 & 7 does not exceed 5,000
voters; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Precinct 3 & Precin ct 4 at the Polling
Location at 1150 Amity — Muskegon Middle School shall be consolidatedy
for all elections conducted in the City of Muskegon except for the Primar
Election and the General Election conducted in the even years.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Precinct 6 & Precinct 7 at the Polling Locati on at 933
for all elections
Terrace Street — Muskegon City Hall shall be consolidated
conducted in the City of Muskegon except for the Primary Election and the
General Election conducted in the even years.
