Regular Meeting Minutes

I. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Commissioner David George Newsome at
4:10 p.m.
Also present was Commissioner Pamela Lynk, Deborah Groeneveld, Human
Resources Director, and Mary Mansfield, Administrative Secretary.
II. MINUTES
Motion was made by David George Newsome and seconded by Pamela
Lynk to approve the regular minutes of the April 17, 2014 meeting.
Motion Carried.
III. ACTION AGENDA
A. Review of Ballot Language. Debbie gave the commissioners a copy of the
proposed language for resolution to amend the Civil Service procedure for
filling positions of employment to eliminate the “Rule of 1” and “Rule of 3,”
which was written by John Schrier. It was noted that all language in the
proposed language change is the exact same as it was stated before, but the
Rule of 1 and Rule of 3 has been removed.
Motion was made by David George Newsome and seconded by Pamela
Lynk to inform the City Manager that the ballot language is approved
by the Civil Service Commission.
Motion Carried.
