NEW BUSINESS/PUBLIC HEARINGS
Case 2010-18 – 148 Washington St. Applicant: Charles Kelly. District: Campus. Class: A.
Current Function: Residential. M. Franzak stated that the applicant is seeking approval to replace
all of the eight wood windows on the second story with new vinyl windows.
P. Kelly stated that there would be no change in appearance, just materials. He stated that the
windows currently in place had been replaced about 50 years ago. L. Spataro asked if he knew what
the original windows looked like. P. Kelly stated that he did not.
A motion that the HDC approve the request to replace the eight wood windows on the second story
with new vinyl windows as proposed, as long as the size and shape of the original window openings
are retained, the work meets all zoning requirements, and any necessary permits are obtained, was
made by L. Spataro, supported by L. Wood and unanimously approved.
Michigan Historic Preservation Network Training Session was provided for board members after
the meeting was adjourned.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 3:15 p.m.
