Citizen’s District Council Meeting
City of Muskegon CDBG
City Commission Chambers
Muskegon, Michigan
February 1, 2022

CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order by Jeremy Lenertz at 5:30 pm.

ROLL CALL:
Roll call was taken by Samantha Pulos, and a quorum was present.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
A motion to approve the minutes from June 1, 2021 (Action Item) was made by Jennifer Ross;
Perry Dennie supported the motion, which passed unanimously.

PUBLIC COMMENTS:
There was no public comment.
OLD BUSINESS:
None.

NEW BUSINESS:
Introduction: City Commissioner Rebecca St. Clair was welcomed to the CDC, replacing Ken
Johnson, our new City of Muskegon Mayor.
Survey: A survey was distributed to assess the community needs. CNS received $1 million
HOME fund last year to invest in the community. The department has reached out to agencies
and neighboring municipalities for information about what services people need.
Calendar for 2022: Oneata presented the idea of if quarterly meetings are better suited for the
group, as well as adopting the practice to call special meetings when needed.

STAFF REPORTS:
CNS received $1.5 million-dollar Healthy Homes Grant, which is designed to allow the
department to go into homes and assess how healthy the home is and help remedy issues. The
maximum amount of monetary help that can be given is $10,000 per household.

GENERAL DISCUSSION:
None.

ADJOURN:
Jennifer Ross motioned to adjourn the meeting, Paul Kurdziel seconded the motion, which
passed unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 6:30 pm.

NEXT MEETING:
The next meeting date is: March 1, 2022.
