MINUTES
The City of Muskegon Special Commission Meeting was held at City Hall, 933
Terrace Street, Muskegon, Michigan at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 16,
2015.
ROLL CALL FOR THE REGULAR COMMISSION MEETING:
Present: Mayor Gawron, Vice Mayor Spataro, Commissioners German, Rinsema-
Sybenga, Turnquist, Johnson, and Hood, City Manager Franklin Peterson, City
Attorney John Schrier, and City Clerk Ann Marie Meisch.

A. Property Acquisition – City Manager
Motion by Commissioner Rinsema-Sybenga, second by Commissioner Hood to
go into closed session to discuss property acquisition.
ROLL VOTE: Ayes: Spataro, German, Rinsema-Sybenga, Turnquist, Johnson,
Gawron, and Hood.
MOTION PASSES
Motion by Vice Mayor Spataro, second by Commissioner German to come out
of closed session.
ROLL VOTE: Ayes: Rinsema-Sybenga, Turnquist, Johnson, Gawron, Hood,
Spataro, and German.
MOTION PASSES
Motion by Vice Mayor Spataro, second by Commissioner Rinsema-Sybenga to
approve the recommendation and authorize the city attorney and city manager
to negotiate the final terms of the purchase agreement and complete the sale
for 285 West Western Avenue, 255 West Western Avenue, 241 West Western
Avenue, 880 1st Street, 216 West Clay Avenue, and 208 West Clay Avenue for the
cost of approximately $400,000 with approximately $5,000 – $7,000 in closing
costs.
ROLL VOTE: Ayes: German, Rinsema-Sybenga, Turnquist, Johnson, Gawron,
Hood, and Spataro
