CITIZEN’S POLICE REVIEW BOARD
Meeting Date: Monday, October 7, 2019 at 1830
Location: Muskegon City Hall, Room 103
Board Members Present: David Bukala, Ann Craig, Josie James, William Muhammad, Rozelia Patino
Faye Redmond, Ron Hayward, and Robert Roundtree
Board Members Absent: Ruby Clark (absent),
Staff Present: Jeremy Velik and Denny Powers – Staff Liaison.
The meeting was called to order at 6:32pm, by W. Muhammad. A quorum was present.
Approval of the Previous Minutes
A. Craig moved to accept the minutes as presented, seconded by Josie James. No additional discussion.
Unanimous support. Motion carried.
-Introductions were conducted as there is a new member to the board.
-Procedures of the CPRB were explained and all members were given copies of procedures.
-Internal Affairs IA 19-08 (not an appeal) was given to members for information only.
-The following questions / concerns were brought up by board members: How long are citizen complaints kept
on file, how does the numbering system work for IA’s, why are Muskegon Police Department internal policy
and procedures not public, and why is the commentary section of the IA complaint not filled out.
W. Muhammad moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Josie James. Motion carried. The meeting was
adjourned at 7:45 P.M.
The next meeting is November 4, 2019 at 6:30pm in room 103 of Muskegon City Hall.
