The mission of the City of Muskegon Department of Public Works (DPW) is to provide superior service to all City residents and visitors by maintaining the City’s infrastructure and facilities in a safe and reliable manner. Since our efforts affect the comfort and well-being of our residents every day, we strive to give prompt attention to the needs of our citizens, as well as people who work, visit, or pass through our City.
Among the infrastructure the Department of Public Works oversees are streets, highways, bridges, water filtration and distribution systems, sewage collection and treatment, streetlights, traffic control, street drains, and storm sewers. Maintenance of the parks, marina, and cemeteries located in the City of Muskegon is also managed by the DPW, as well as services such as garbage collection, yard waste collection, and recycling.
