Work on Black Creek Drive is continuing to make steady progress and we are targeting to have the road reopened during the week of November 12th. We ran into a few unanticipated utility conflicts that slowed our progress down during the last two weeks, but are moving past those and preparing to start paving on the east half of the roadway. At this time we expect that the project will be ready for top course paving during the weekend of November 10-11.
During the top course paving Black Creek Road will be closed to all thru traffic.
As of this morning work on Black Creek Road has progressed to Stage 2. During Stage 2 Black Creek Road will remain open only for northbound traffic between Sherman Boulevard and Latimer Drive. Work during Stage 2 will include reconstruction of the eastern half of Black Creek Road as well as the intersection of Olthoff Drive.
During Stage 2 there will be no access to or from Olthoff Drive at Black Creek Road. Access to Olthoff Drive will be off from Sheridan.
Black Creek Drive from Sherman Boulevard north to Latimer Drive will be closed to southbound traffic beginning on Monday, September 17th. Southbound traffic will be detoured via Laketon Avenue, Mill Iron Road, and Broadway Avenue. Black Creek Drive will remain open for northbound traffic. Work on Black Creek Drive is scheduled to take approximately 6-8 weeks and will include asphalt reconstruction of the roadway with curb radius improvements.
The attached map shows the approximate limits of work and the southbound detour route.
