I spend one year in Muskegon as an exchange student a couple of years ago. I have to say, I love this place! Muskegon is so beautiful and seeing these videos reminded me of how much I liked being there and also made me wonder when I will finally get the chance to visit Muskegon again :) I’ve been to many of the places shown in the videos and I can highly recommend visiting Muskegon at one point or another. No matter which time of the year you visit, Muskegon always looks like a nice place to be :) There is always something to do and the people who live there are very kind and welcoming.
Thanks for sharing these videos and reminding me of the good time I had over there!

I’ve recently joined a christian dating network. I have been divorced 12 years. in the dating web site I found a local from Muskegon, so I just looked it up, found your videos and fell in love with the place. Like heaven compared to the concrete jungle of metro Atlanta. I love the outdoors. Your city is beautiful, who knows it may be my home someday. Thanks so much. Oh, by the way he is listed as funfisherofmen, a pentecostal as I.

My grandparents lived there, parents born there, my brothers and sisters and I were born there and lived there for many years. I was born at Hackley Hospital in 1957. Left Muskegon in 1976 and have been back a couple of times; 1996 was the last time. I appreciate the optimism also, but I have heard from other family members that the downtown area is flattened again. The city cannot seem to find a direction of development to move in and a path to stay on. The town needs an identity again. The city has been blinking its eyes trying to find focus for decades in the wake of the passing on of lumber and heavy industry. Muskegon is more than just a fond memory of the old and middle-aged; just what that is needs to be defined and pumped into life! The road is forward – build it, youth of Muskegon! You’ve got my prayers on that.

      John,

Thank you for the comment, good to hear you have fond memories of Muskegon. The City is working very hard on all those issues you mentioned.

    • K.L. Landry says:

Sounds just like me , including what hospital and year of birth ! What a wonderland it is !!! Went back in 2009 and downtown is , once again , revitalizing . Summer Celebration ( and volunteering a beer tent with The Vikings was a great experience ) !!

  12. Marshall Kramer says:

I grew up in Muskegon. It was really emotional seeing some of the places I’ve been in Muskegon in these videos. I remember walking along Pere Marquette Beach or biking along the paths with my family in the summer. It is nice to see optimism for Michigan’s cities in such a hard time for the state.

Thank you for the beautiful videos of Muskegon. They took me back to another time and place, when my family and I would regularly visit Muskegon when I was a child. Would it be OK to re-post these videos on my Web Design Surrey website?

Thank you for the beautiful videos of Muskegon. They took me back to another time and place, when my family and I would regularly visit Muskegon when I was a child. I have many fond memories of my family vacations, especially with my Dad, in Muskegon. As it has been just over 2 years now since my Dad has passed away, these videos serves as a soothing reminder of the life that my Dad and I once lived on our vacations to Muskegon. Thank you for posting!

    Hello
I was in Muskegon in 1990 visiting a friend during January month. It was as in Norway, cold and windy, but a very nice and beautiful place. The people I met was open minded, warm and always had an “open door policy”. My friend and his family did everything they could to make me feel welcome….renting a car for me, making food every day, paying every meal we had out and even my cinema-tickets. I know those people represent a hole lot of good things as human beings.

So to Vance, Mary, Tucker and ???…. Bown, it is so nice and great to have friends in a foreing country so warm hearted and honest.
