Step-by-Step Guide for Creating a Muskegon Business Directory Listing
- First, verify that you business is properly registered with the Muskegon City Clerk’s Office for the current year. If you’re not sure, contact the Clerk’s Office at 231.724.6916 for business registration information.
- Visit the Muskegon Business Directory (www.muskegoncity.com)
- Go to the “Compare Memberships” tab and select the appropriate membership category by clicking the “Order Now” button at the bottom of the column. (In-City business listings are FREE.)
- Complete the infomation – including username and password – to create your account. You will need to complete (at minimum) the required fields marked with a red asterisk. Click “Submit” and you will be automatically logged in to your account.
- Select a Primary Classification for your business from the options listed. Clicking the “+” sign will expand each category and show detailed classifications. NOTE: You pick only ONE Primary Classification. After the Primary Classification has been chosen, click the “Submit” to begin entering your business details.
- Enter a Title for your listing. Normally, this will be your firm’s name.
- Select up to five separate categories to list your business under. For example, a law firm might choose to be listed under “Bankruptcy”, “Elder Law”, and “Personal Injury” to reflect areas of specialization. Selecting multiple categories helps visitors find your business.
- Enter a short description of your business to be used in the directory summary and a longer, more detailed description to be used as the main listing.
- Enter information into the remaining fields. Note that required fields are marked with a red asterisk.
- Upload your company’s graphic logo. For best results, logo’s should be sized 300×300 (pixels). Uploading a logo is not required, but doing so makes your listing look polished and professional.
That’s it! Once your listing is submitted, it will be reviewed withing 48 hours.
