Public Works
The Department of Public Works, “DPW”, is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the city’s infrastructure such as streets, highways, bridges, water filtration and distribution, sewage collection and treatment, street lights, traffic control, street drains and storm sewers.

Muskegon Public Works
DPW also provides services such as garbage collection, yard waste collection and recycling. For senior city residents DPW provides offers door-to-door transportation service. To support these services, DPW operates a maintenance facility at the Public Service Building and a motor pool (our Equipment Division).
