We look forward to hearing from you!

I was surprised to read in our church bulletin that individuals would be attending the next City Commission meeting to speak out against “The City of the Dead.” As a member of Harbor Unitarian Universalist Congregation; I have seen the behind the scenes planning, the rehearsals, and heard the feedback from people who research the area’s history. It is not an exploitation of Halloween, and an attempt to turn the Cemetary into a Stephen King novel. “The City of the Dead” uses volunteers to “bring back to life” some of the area’s notable citizens that were buried there. It has educated me about some of Muskegon’s history. As someone who moved to the area as an adult, I might otherwise never have learned that Hackley was more than the name of a street, a library, and a Hospital. I certainly had never heard the history of the area’s breweries or the “Red Ribbon Society” that helped to put them out of business.
This was a second year for “The City of the Dead.” Attendance increased this year due to word of mouth. As we checked out of Plumbs a couple days ago, Joyce (our cashier) recognized my wife as one of the re-enactors and asked us to notify her in advance so that she could schedule a vacation day and attend it again next year.
To date, I have yet to hear negative feedback from anyone who has participated or attended.
The only negative feedback I hear is from people who don’t want to see zombies and skeletons chasing people around a cemetary in the dark. It is not that type of event!
I was wondering where do I find a directory of employees. I am looking for a certain employee to leave a message for and I dont know where to look.
This page contains a list of all the contact pages for departments. In order to avoid spam, we don’t publish a list of employee email address on the website, but they can be contacted through the departmental form.

Are their any memorial plates for park benches still available, and if so where are they located?
I believe you can still put a plaque on the benches on the channel at Pere Marquette. The contact person is Bernadette Young at 724-6991.

My Dear City of Muskegon,
I would like to ask something to you. The matter is I have seen the us$ 100 note with a star after the numbers instead of alphabet. I really do not want to bother u n I search in google n some web I asked but there is no reply at all. That’s why I try to find out from u.
I attach a photo of the note. I think it’s genuine but no idea n never seen before. So can u please let me know it is real of the fake one?
Thank u very much in advance n I appreciate for that.
Best Regards,
Truly Yours’
AZM
This star is called a replacement note. When an error in printing the bill occurs which makes a set of bills invalid, replacement notes are used instead. But no worries, the bills are worth the same as other bills without the star and in fact, they may be worth even more depending on the serial number pattern, such as 0101010101 – it’s up to the collector to decide how much more the bill may be worth – likely, it’s not worth more than face value.
Where can I find a recycling calendar showing me the dates for pick up?
Thank you.
The City of Muskegon no longer offer recycling pick up.
Citizens may contract with Allied Waste directly by calling 877-698-7274.
Or if they prefer, they can take their items to Community Recycling Services

We have been waiting for a return phone call from Muskegon Public Safety in regards to a notice we received and are disappointed that the only way to send an email is on this public forum.
Sen,
I have forwarded your comment and concern to the department. In the future you can use the Police Department contact form found at the bottom of the Police Department page, this will send an email directly to the department.

Thank you.
I would like to thank the entire city of Muskegon for Kruse Park, today was my first visit there because I wanted to take my dogs to play on the beach. I didn’t know there was anywhere anymore you could do that. Then I found Kruse Park info on the web…wow was I excited. So I packed up my dogs and headed to your town with my trusty GPS to guide me. We stopped at PetSmart and did some shopping, then off to the beach..not sure what to expect but was very hopeful. What I found WOW’ed me and my dogs, we had a blast. Other dog owners were there and all the dogs got along great.
I am so happy and deeply appreciative of your cities gesture to dog owners in your town. I have to honestly say I never went to Muskegon much, but I guess I didn’t give you a fair shake. I am sorry for that…cus I love ya now! My dogs and me are planning weekly visits for shopping and play and Kruse Park..it’s worth the hour drive. Its good to see this kind a thing in a big City like yours..You have impressed me deeply.
Thank you very much

Hello I have been trying to get to a department to get my marriage license. But I’ve been having a hard time getting the information needed to do so. Also last year, I visited Muskegon my sister-in law funeral and I was very disappointed about the street signs and how hard it was to get around because we didn’t know where we was going not to mention the big pots holes everywhere and just the lack of respect that the citizen showen during that time. There were people in the same line as we were just to avoid traffic or get to their destination quicker while the people attending funeral.
Phyllis, please check with the County of Muskegon for information on a marriage license. www.co.muskegon.mi.us/clerk/marriageinfo.htm
I am trying to access the “report a crime” portion of your website….this is the constant error message I receive. “Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact administrator by other way”
Also, the email listed within the text results in an unknown recipient error.
Andrea, I apologize for the error, it has been fixed. Thank you.
muskegon summer celebration was fantastic……from the sand sculpture contest to the senior social picnic……..keep it alive…….it is great for downtown muskegon and all the area businesses……muskegon will suffer big time if we don’t have the festival especially the area businesses……

I agree with you! IF we loose Muskegon Summer Celebration, this city is going to be in big trouble, no hotel tax, no gas tax, no food tax and all the business will suffer. The City needs to step up and do there part. and let them use Heriage Landing for free, it helps bring in alot of money to this city, and if there is no Muskegon Summer Celebration next year….they will feel the loss..Better WAKE up Mayor! Just my opinion!
My family lived in the area until the late 90s. I was driving through Muskegon today and noticed many changes. I was distraught to see that St. Joseph’s was no longer standing. Could you please enlighten me on what happened?
