City of Muskegon New Website

August 23, 2009

Looking for contact information? You’ll find it located on the City of Muskegon Departments page.

This section is for those that would like to leave a comment or suggestion for the new site. If you would like to remain anonymous, simply enter anonymous for the name and anonymous@postman.org for the email.

We have been working very hard during the last six months on converting our old website to a new site based on the most popular Content Management System on the market today, Wordpress. This new CMS allows citizens to become more involved while at the same time automating costly processes and reducing the time spent on publishing content.

As this website grows, we’ll be correcting errors and omissions that can escape even the most detailed testing.

Should you find something missing, an error or have an idea for something new, please, by all means, leave a comment and let us know.

We look forward to hearing from you!

I was educated about the City of Muskegon’s Politics by my Father, Herman Borgerding Jr (Traffic Sup) for the city for many years. I my self was a OTR Truck Driver, and have left Muskegon out bound for many, many, cities across this Country. I couldn’t help but to compare my home town Muskegon to other cities. From 1975 until about 1997, this city was stagnate. Sometimes you have to leave this city and return to notice a change. Too many people have been here for years, and do not notice change, there fore there impression of Muskegon could remain the same. However… 1997 to 2009, What a change. The Planning Commission, amongst others, have turned this city “upside down”. The progress is outstanding. My hat is off to all. May I make a small suggestion? Maybe you could increase our “Pride” of Muskegon buy… bill board advertising, bumper stickers, ect? Some kind of a slogan that could change the attitude here in Muskegon? Thank you for your time. Sincerly, Herman Borgerding Home Town Pride

We used to get “The Channel,” the City of Muskegon newsletter, from the old site. Our archives go back to 1996. I’ve searched and searched, but I can’t find it on the new site. Is this newsletter no longer being published, and/or has it been replaced by something else? Thanks for any insight.

Please update the phone numbers listed on your website concerning water emergencies. I have an after hours water emergency, and the after hours phone number (231 739-3288) has been disconnected. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE! The main numbers to the water department do not have updated information, so I am left with no way to get additional information. PLEASE FIX THIS IMMEDIATELY!

I apologize for the error, the correct phone number for an after hours water emergency for the City of Muskegon is 231-737-2680.
