Garbage Cart Service

City residents are required to use a cart for disposing of your garbage. We also offer extra cart rental, hardship stickers and sell extra waste stickers

  • Only city-issued garbage carts may be used by City residents for disposal of trash.
  • Weekly curbside collection : Monday - Friday depending on location of your neighborhood
  • Lost or stolen carts can be replaced by paying a replacement fee of $55.00. City will deliver the replacement.
  • New residents not having a cart must pay a fee of $55.00 for a cart.
  • Hardship Stickers available to people who are physically unable to use a garbage cart. Call Ted Russell at (231) 724-6908 to make arrangements.
  • Extra garbage or bulky items that do not fit in your garbage cart must have a mixed refuse sticker attached in order to be picked up at the curb. Stickers can be purchased at $2.00 each. You then need to affix the sticker to any extra bag of garbage or bulk item that will not fit in your garbage cart, (one sticker per item) and put it out on your regularly scheduled garbage day.
