2010 City Budget Now Available
The proposed 2010 City of Muskegon budget has been released and is now available for public review. City staff prepares a recommended budget that is presented to the City Commission by September first. The City Commission then considers the recommendation and makes changes it deems necessary. A public hearing on the budget will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 during the regular City Commission meeting (which begins at 5:30 PM). Because Monday (September 7th) is the Labor Day Holiday, a City Commission worksession to review the budget in detail will be held on Wednesday, September 9, ...

As part of the Administrative Division team, the Department devotes much of its time and resources to applicant recruitment and testing to fill the vacancies that occur within the City's workforce. The Department of Public Works, "DPW", is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the city's infrastructure such as streets, highways, bridges, water filtration and distribution, sewage collection and treatment, street lights, traffic control, street drains and storm sewers.
